Dinner, Wine, Movie

I made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner tonight and we drank a bottle of Terralsole Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2001 with it. We watched "Love in the Time of Cholera", and I have to say I was less than impressed with the movie. The plot was good, the acting was okay, but the old-age makeup job was pretty horrible. Fermina was supposed to be 72 years old, but her face had no wrinkles except around the eyes. Her cheeks were smooth as a baby's bottom. However, they managed to make her body look old, which didn't make sense.

Ah well, at least dinner and the wine were good :-D

Mister Foe

Last night hubby and I watched "Mister Foe", staring Jamie Bell of "Billy Elliot" fame. "Mister Foe" is about a young man, Hallam, who has a habit of spying on people. He sees a woman who looks very much like his dead mother and becomes obsessed with her. I won't reveal any more than that, but it's worth renting.

We also saw some previews before the movie that looked pretty good. "What Just Happened?" with Robert DeNiro, "Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson", "Man on Wire" about tightrope walker Philippe Petit's high-wire routine performed between New York City's World Trade Center's twin towers in 1974. All were added to our Netflix queue.

Another good movie to rent

"The Counterfeiters". It's based on a true story about the largest counterfeiting operation in history, set up by the Nazis in 1936. Both hubby and I thought it was great. I highly recommend it!
